High-pressure drain jetting
Rods push through a blockage. Jetting cleans the whole pipe. A nozzle fires high-pressure water backwards along the pipe wall, pulling itself along the drain and flushing everything back to the manhole.
£49 call-out. Fixed price on site, no obligation.
When jetting is the right fix
Jetting is the best option when a drain keeps blocking, when the blockage is a long way from the access point, or when the pipe is coated in something that rods can't shift. Typical causes include kitchen fat and grease, baby wipes, sand and silt washed in from driveways, limescale in older pipes, and fine roots growing through joints.
What happens on the day
We set up at the nearest manhole or rodding point, choose the right nozzle for the pipe size and the blockage, and work the jet up the line in stages. The debris flushes back to the chamber where we remove it. We finish by running clean water through the system and checking every connected fitting drains properly.
Jetting is safe for plastic and clay drains that are in reasonable condition. If a pipe is badly cracked, we'll talk to you before using full pressure on it.
What it costs
We don't charge by the hour. After the £49 call-out, our engineer inspects the drain and gives you a fixed price on site, with no obligation to go ahead. If a big blockage or a full manhole takes longer than expected, the price doesn't change. That matters most on jetting jobs, where long runs and heavy fat build-up can take time.
Preventative jetting
For restaurants, takeaways, pubs and rental properties that block regularly, a planned jet every three or six months costs far less than emergency call-outs. See commercial drain maintenance.
Common questions
Is drain jetting better than rodding?
For a simple blockage close to the manhole, rodding is often enough. For build-up along the pipe, blockages far from access, or drains that keep blocking, jetting does a much more thorough job.
Can jetting damage my pipes?
Not if the drain is in reasonable condition and the pressure and nozzle are matched to the pipe. We assess the drain first and adjust for older or fragile pipes.
Will it cost more if it takes longer?
No. You get a fixed price on site before we start, and that's what you pay, however long the job takes.
